About Sam:

Sam is a former Australian podiatrist and technical footwear specialist with extensive expertise in biomechanics, injury prevention, and performance fit within the ski and outdoor industries. Her professional background includes technical boot fitting, stance alignment, skiing biomechanics, product development, and workforce education. Over the course of more than a decade, she has taught and mentored bootfitters throughout the United States and Australia through her work with Masterfit Enterprises, contributing to the advancement of professional standards across the industry. She has collaborated with leading footwear brands on women’s-specific product innovation, including a key role in the validation and development of Tecnica Outdoor’s women’s fast hiking shoe line in partnership with the biomechanics research team at the University of Verona (CERISM). This work supported the product from concept through to launch and reflects her broader interest in product strategy, technical development, and market application within specialised footwear categories. As one of the few female ski bootfitters in the field, Sam is a committed advocate for women’s-specific fit and for increasing female representation in technical and hardgoods roles across the snowsports and outdoor sectors. Her work is informed by a strong understanding of both product performance and consumer needs, spanning categories from ski boots and mountaineering footwear to running shoes.
