My Story
My journey in the ski industry began in 1982 when I took employment at a local ski retailer to support my ski racing habit. After working for multiple ski retailers in the Pacific Northwest, I opened World Cup Skier Service, a predominately ski tuning and performance retail store, where I began honing my bootfitting skills and provided race support for athletes of various nations through to the 2002 Olympics. In 2004 I acquired my Certified Pedorthist credential which spring boarded into Park City Ski Boot in 2006, a ski boot fitting only retail store.
In 2011 I was part of the transition team to bring BootDoc to North America, developing their education program and providing product design input for both Hotronic and BootDoc brands, which I continue to do. Every year since 2001 I have provided ski boot fitting education and services for PSIA, but also regional ski racing teams.
In 2023, I co-founded the Association of Global Boot Fitters with Colin Martin, developed the Global Boot Fitters Congress, and as an active board member continue to work towards establishing ski boot fitting as a legitimate career opportunity.
