Denny Hanson

I began working with ski boots in the late 1950’s as a young ski racer in Michigan. This eventually led to my being hired as the Director of R&D for Lange during the late ‘60s. I was Jean Claude Killy’s bootfitter for a couple of years during that time!

I founded Hanson ski boot in 1970 and led that company for 15 years. I was also the producer of Snugs Flofit padding system in the late ‘80s.

I ran an R&D company for a number of years and then founded Apex ski boots in 2006.

I spent my entire career thinking about boots, designing them, and trying to make them fit feet better and ski better! Elected to the US Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame 2025!
